Natural & Harmless
Biological Conversion of Organic to Mineral Sediments
Organic sediment layers in waterways can be naturally converted to mineral sediments through biodegradation processes. By admitting microorganisms fixed to a mineral support, they break down organic material, converting carbon compounds and mineralizing. This reduces the sludge layer without physically removing sludge.
By biologically converting organic sludge layers, we improve water quality and reduce land degradation and odor nuisance. This sustainable method contributes to a healthier ecosystem without harmful interventions.

QM Environmental International supplies biological products for sediment remediation. QM-BioDredge is the standard product for breaking down unpolluted organic sediment layers. If the sludge is contaminated with organic contaminants, QM-BioDredge can be supplemented with specifically cultured bacteria capable of breaking down these contaminants.
