Por exemplo, um hidrocarboneto derivado do petr\u00f3leo pode ser uma fonte de carbono \u00fatil para certas bact\u00e9rias, e um solvente clorado, como o tetracloroeteno (PCE), pode ser utilizado como aceitador de electr\u00f5es por outra estirpe bacteriana. Uma vis\u00e3o crucial para o sucesso de um projeto de bioremedia\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 determinar o papel do contaminante no local e qual o componente chave necess\u00e1rio para promover a bioatividade. Isto \u00e9 conhecido na ind\u00fastria como degrada\u00e7\u00e3o natural monitorizada (MNA), porque todos os componentes necess\u00e1rios para o crescimento e reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o celular est\u00e3o presentes e a bioremedia\u00e7\u00e3o ocorre sem estimula\u00e7\u00e3o externa.<\/p>\n<p>Quando falta um dador ou aceitador de electr\u00f5es, a bioestimula\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 frequentemente uma op\u00e7\u00e3o para suplementar o componente em falta. E quando os microorganismos que realizam estas reac\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o est\u00e3o presentes, a bioaumenta\u00e7\u00e3o pode continuar a rea\u00e7\u00e3o e facilitar a bioremedia\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bioestimula\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/strong> A adi\u00e7\u00e3o de suplementos nutricionais para aumentar o metabolismo microbiano e promover a biodegrada\u00e7\u00e3o.
