Estas bact\u00e9rias, como a <em>Microthrix parvicella<\/em> ou as esp\u00e9cies de <em>Nocardia<\/em>, podem aumentar significativamente o volume do lodo ao formarem estruturas longas e filiformes. Esta espuma pode acumular-se na superf\u00edcie do tanque biol\u00f3gico, causando obstru\u00e7\u00f5es, redu\u00e7\u00e3o da transfer\u00eancia de oxig\u00e9nio e at\u00e9 mesmo danos nos equipamentos. Isto tamb\u00e9m dificulta a inspe\u00e7\u00e3o visual e a monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o do processo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e1 sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o do lodo no clarificador<\/strong><br \/>\nDevido \u00e0 sua estrutura filamentosa, os flocos de lamas ativadas tornam-se menos compactos. Isto reduz a taxa de sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o do lodo no clarificador, levando a uma situa\u00e7\u00e3o de filamentosidade. O lodo permanece em suspens\u00e3o em vez de se afundar at\u00e9 ao fundo, o que pode provocar o transbordamento de lodo para o efluente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teor excessivamente elevado de s\u00f3lidos em suspens\u00e3o no efluente<\/strong><br \/>\nDevido \u00e0 deficiente sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e forma\u00e7\u00e3o de espuma, o teor de s\u00f3lidos em suspens\u00e3o no efluente final aumenta. Isto tem consequ\u00eancias diretas para a qualidade da \u00e1gua e pode resultar no incumprimento dos padr\u00f5es de elimina\u00e7\u00e3o. Al\u00e9m disso, pode perturbar processos subsequentes, como o tratamento terci\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n<p>O m\u00e9todo tradicional de controlo do lodo leve consiste em ajustar v\u00e1rios par\u00e2metros do processo (como os n\u00edveis de oxig\u00e9nio e os regimes de aera\u00e7\u00e3o) e adicionar floculantes para que o lodo se aglomere, tornando-o mais pesado e permitindo a sua sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o no clarificador. Embora esta seja uma forma eficaz de reduzir o teor de s\u00f3lidos em suspens\u00e3o no efluente, a adi\u00e7\u00e3o de floculantes n\u00e3o resolve o problema do lodo leve. A por\u00e7\u00e3o do lodo que regressa ao reactor biol\u00f3gico ainda cont\u00e9m bact\u00e9rias filamentosas e, se os factores de crescimento para estas estirpes bacterianas ainda estiverem presentes no reactor biol\u00f3gico, estas ir\u00e3o proliferar novamente em excesso em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s bact\u00e9rias floculantes. Com o tempo, o problema pode agravar-se com a dosagem prolongada de floculante, uma vez que as bact\u00e9rias formadoras de col\u00f3nias acabam por desaparecer do lodo de esgoto.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>QM Environmental International<\/strong> oferece uma gama de produtos microbianos para combater as bact\u00e9rias filamentosas e reintroduzir estirpes formadoras de col\u00f3nias.
