Start-up and restart of biological wastewater treatment plants is something that is traditionally done with sludge from other treatment plants. High cell count & supporting substances

Each MicroCat® product is formulated with a wide selection of microorganisms to meet the demands of any type of municipal or industrial wastewater. They can be applied in biological treatment systems such as activated sludge plants, fixed bed bioreactors, MBR and MBBR plants on contaminants ranging from easily degradable components such as proteins, sugars and fats to difficult to degrade organic compounds originating from the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries.

MicroCat® products are concentrated formulations. This means that the germ count in MicroCat® products is high (> 109 cfu’s/gram). In addition to various types of micro-organisms, some MicroCat® products contain enzymes, buffers and nutrients. These substances support the reactivation of the dried bacteria as soon as they come into contact with water.
