Biological Maintenance of small scale STP’s – Sustainable and Effective

A properly functioning small scale STP’s starts with a proper startup when the system is installed or when it needs to be restarted. QM Environmental International supplies three products that can be used for this purpose. There are products for all sort of small scale STP’s. For BOD and nutrient removal.

  • QM-SepticT – Ensures proper and fast start-up and restart of the septic tank, the first tank of the treatment unit.
  • MicroCat-STM+ – Ensures proper and rapid start-up and restart of the aeration tank.
  • MicroCat-XNL – Ensures proper and rapid start-up and restart of nitrification in the aeration tank

These products can also be added during annual maintenance to ensure continued optimal operation of the small scale STP.

QM-SepticT

QM – SepticT(-D) is a synergistic blend of pre-selected, adapted microorganisms for keeping septic systems free of blockages. QM – SepticT(-D) enriches the natural flora of septic tanks thanks to its specific microorganisms, enabling optimal operation.

Applications:

  • Start-up & restart of septic tanks

Shelf life: 2 years

Dosage:

Start-up / Restart with QM-SepticT: 100 gram/m3 septic tank volume

Maintenance with QM-SepticT-D: 1 water-soluble bag of 80 grams/4 people/month

MicroCat-STM+

MicroCat-STM+ is a synergistic blend of pre-selected, adapted naturally occurring microorganisms and enzymes for use in small scale STP systems, facultative ponds (helophyte filters) and aerated ponds receiving agricultural and domestic wastewater.

Applications:

  • Start-up, restart and maintenance of the aeration tank

Germ count: > 1.10+9 cfu/gram (Class 1 natural microorganisms
according to European Directive 2000/54/EC recognized as safe for humans and the environment)

Shelf life: 2 Years

Dosage: 100 grams of MicroCat-STM+ per 4 people at startup or re-start.

MicroCat-XNL

MicroCat-XNL is a liquid suspension of selected, adapted Nitrosomonas sp. and Nitrobacter sp. strains for use in biological wastewater treatment plants. These bacterial strains convert ammonium to nitrate, which is converted to nitrogen gas (N2) by denitrifying strains present in MicroCat-STM+.

MicroCat-XNL is a non-refrigerated liquid.

Applications:

  • Start-up, restart and maintenance of nitrification in the IBA aeration tank of Class IIIA systems.

Shelf life: 1 Year

Dosage:

  • Startup or re-start dosage: 500 ml per 4 people.
  • Maintenance dosage: 20 ml/week/4 people

Packaging: 1 Liter bottles
