Biodegradation of floating oil layers

Oil slicks on surface water are the result of a leaking engine from a boat or an oil leaking car parked near the water’s edge, an illegal discharge, or the result of a calamity such as a car accident in which the vehicle hit the water. It is important that this contamination be cleaned up quickly because it spreads easily and attaches itself to the flora and fauna in the water.

MicroCat®-XRT

MicroCat®-XRT is a special blend of selected, adapted microorganisms for use on surface water contaminated with mineral oils such as fuels. MicroCat®-XRT contains a combination of aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms selected from nature for their ability to break down a wide range of natural and synthetic organic compounds in combination with additional nutrients to stimulate biodegradation.

Applications

MicroCat®-XRT can be used for oil slicks on:

  • Lakes
  • Large & small ponds
  • Girdles and ditches
  • and other slow-flowing waterways.

MicroCat®-XRT can also be used in bilge tanks and oil/water separators.

Shelf life: 2 years

Packaging: 0.2 kg water-soluble bags in 1 Kg boxes or 10 Kg buckets.

MicroCat®-SK

MicroCat®-SK is a synergistic blend of specialized oil absorbents combined with naturally occurring selected and adapted microorganisms and nutrients. MicroCat®-SK absorbs oil floating on water surfaces. It contains only biodegradable components. It is specially formulated for application to oil spills and other forms of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination. It is an effective product for removal of crude oil, gas oil, diesel, machine oil, hydraulic oil, solvents, monomers and other petroleum derivatives.

Applications
